Pycnogenol is a unique bioflavonoid from the bark of the French Maritime Pine and contains a rich source of Proanthocyanidins. Proanthocyanidins (also known as OPCs - oligomeric proanthocyanidins) are unique botanical antioxidants related to the bioflavonoid family. The main function of proanthocyanidins are; antioxidant activity, the stabilisation of collagen and the maintenance of elastin - critical proteins of connective tissue that support organs, joints, blood vessels and veins. Pycnogenol is often chosen by smokers and those who wish to maintain a healthy circulation.
